Ingredients

  • 10 medium button mushrooms

Instructions

  • Clean the mushrooms with a damp paper towel.
  • With a sharp knife, slice the mushrooms in half. Trim the stems.
  • Using a firm straw, poke two holes in one half of the cut mushroom for the eye sockets.
  • Using a sharp knife carve the nose holes, teeth or mouth. Be creative!
  • Repeat for all the mushrooms.

To Cook

  • To cook, season the mushrooms with salt and pepper. Heat a tablespoon or two of olive oil or butter in a large frying pan on a medium heat. Cook the mushroom skulls on both sides until golden.
  • Serve with a dip or be creative with a low carb pizza topping or pasta.
