Crispy asparagus tossed in garlic, lemon and nutritional yeast makes a great low carb side dish or an addition to a salad.

  • ½ lb asparagus spears
  • 1 tablespoons avocado oil or olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon nutritional yeast
  • ½ teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1 tablespoons lemon juice


  • Pre-heat air fryer at 380°F for 5 minutes.
  • Trim the asparagus spears.
  • In a medium bowl, mix the oil, garlic powder, salt, nutritional yeast, lemon juice and zest.
  • Add the asparagus spears to the bowl, and toss in the seasoned oil.
  • Place the asparagus spears in the air fryer basket and cook at 190C/380F degrees for 7-9 minutes until crisp and tender.
  • Serve warm.
